Landscape painters have been gravitating to Jeffersonville and Smuggler's Notch for generations to paint both in groups and in the easily found solitude of the Lamoille Valley. Professionals and amateurs are particularly active from late foliage in mid October till the first snow falls. Perhaps one of the most indelible memories for visitors to the area is a lone artist perched on a windy outcrop, exposed to the full elements, capturing the color and rugged monuments of the area. The farms and barns of the valley that are so unique and timeless also find their way onto canvasses and into the local galleries of Jeffersonville.
We can't stress enough how incomplete a visit to the area would be without a walk through the art galleries of Main Street or a drive through the scenic back roads that so inspire these artists.
